Tytherleigh Consulting was founded in 2024 by Julie Lewis-Thompson, MBA, RTTP to help ambitious organisations navigate the increasingly complex world of research, innovation, and grant funding. Drawing on more than a decade of experience working across academia, industry, and innovation ecosystems, we provide strategic support that transforms innovative ideas into funded projects and funded projects into lasting impact.

Our founder brings extensive expertise in research development, innovation management, commercialisation, and strategic funding acquisition. Having successfully supported hundreds of funding applications and managed large-scale international research and innovation programmes, sh understands the challenges organisations face when seeking to secure competitive funding and deliver complex collaborative projects.

Prior to establishing Tytherleigh Consulting, our founder worked extensively within the higher education and innovation sectors, leading research development activities, building international partnerships, and supporting businesses and researchers to access national and international funding opportunities. This experience includes securing and managing multi-million-pound awards through programmes such as Horizon Europe, the European Research Council (ERC), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), Innovate UK, EPSRC and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

Over the course of this work, more than 160 research and innovation projects were managed across diverse disciplines and sectors, with funding awards ranging from £100,000 to over £10 million. From consortium building and stakeholder engagement to proposal development, contract negotiation, compliance, and project delivery, we have worked across every stage of the funding lifecycle.
