FUNDING RADAR – 13 OCTOBER 2026 – SPOTTING OPPORTUNITIES. FUNDING INNOVATION

From idea to commercial scale-up: finding the right funding at the right stage

Innovation funding is not one-size-fits-all.

Whether you’re exploring a new business idea, developing breakthrough technology, validating a prototype or preparing for commercial growth, there are different funding and support routes worth considering.

This week’s Funding Outlook brings together opportunities from Innovate UK, UKRI, Horizon Europe, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and founder accelerator programmes.

In these weekly articles I will be focusing on opportunities which are on the horizon and will allow meaningful preparation time, as well as future programmes worth planning for now.

πŸ’‘ Julie’s Insight | Funding strategy starts before the application

The most important question isn’t simply what funding is available?

It’s what does your innovation need to achieve next?

An early research idea may need scientific validation. A prototype may need testing with users or industry partners. A commercial product may need investment, manufacturing capability or access to new markets.

And for collaborative programmes, the time needed to identify partners, agree responsibilities and develop a credible proposal can be just as important as the submission deadline itself.

At Tytherleigh Consulting, I help businesses, innovators and research organisations develop funding strategies that reflect their stage of development and longer-term objectives.

From finding funding and building consortia to developing applications, negotiating agreements and managing funded projects, my focus is on helping clients move from opportunity to delivery.

I’ll be sharing The Funding Radar each week, highlighting opportunities worth preparing for, not simply those about to close.

If you’re considering the next stage of your innovation journey, I’d welcome an initial conversation.
